Italy, 1997. 23-year-old Soledad Rosas arrives in Turin from Argentina and moves into a community squat. There she meets militant anarchist Edoardo Massari, and they fall in love. But soon, they will find themselves labeled terrorists by the government—and celebrated as heroes by the people.

Soledad is a suspenseful dramatization of a real arrest in late 1990s Italy. Through cutting back and forth in the life of the titular character, director Agustina Macri explores how young people become radicalized in a fraught political climate, as well as the social dynamics of anarchist groups.
