Critics reviews

There’s an almost Sisyphean quality to [Laurel and Hardy’s] attempts to get to the party, with every small manoeuvre they make somehow twisting its way back to their cosy LA homestead. Knowing that they pair have it in for them for much of the film, as the audience are constantly updated on how each ruse falls flat, there is a beauty of watching a fizzing fuse coiling its way back to the climactic comic payload.
