Ratings & Reviews

  1. Karl J. Kipling's rating of the film Stephen

Crudely made film about a local madman-or-saint? in a Christian community in coastal India that consists almost entirely of villagers sitting around and saying of the title character "And then there was that time I saw Esthappan in the graveyard in the moonlight..." or the like, followed by clumsy flashback sequences.

  2. 張大智's rating of the film Stephen

The scenes when the children throw stones at the humble and saintly Esthappan, and in pure joy he throws them back turned into cookies; and when he warns the fishermen saying "Oh! The angry waves, they are blind! You can not save yourself from them even if you could fly! Turn back, turn back!" are moments of simple sublime beauty. This film elated me so. :)
