Disgraced nobleman Vladimir is sent by a radical group to assassinate Orlov, an important Tsarist official. While witnessing Orlov, Jr.’s affair with the young and impressionable Zinaida, Vladimir gradually starts feeling sympathy for that used and abused woman.
