Fantastic collection of archival footage here and a respectfully put together doco on an amazingly unique couple. Seeing Karl out on Yosemite on his make-shift ladder was both terrifying and awe-inspiring. This is a mature, well made story that gives a loving insight into an era free from the commercialisation of all of today's extreme sports. 4 stars
The wild story of Carl and Jean Boenish effortlessly crafted by Marah Strauch, takes us through the obsessively beautiful history of the invention of base jumping. Breathtaking in scale, and refreshing in its humanity and mystery. This is a film for any fan of big documentaries like Senna, Man on Wire or Grizzly Man.
