  • Matt Richards's rating of the film Sunshine Superman

Fantastic collection of archival footage here and a respectfully put together doco on an amazingly unique couple. Seeing Karl out on Yosemite on his make-shift ladder was both terrifying and awe-inspiring. This is a mature, well made story that gives a loving insight into an era free from the commercialisation of all of today's extreme sports. 4 stars

  • Endless Eye's rating of the film Sunshine Superman

The wild story of Carl and Jean Boenish effortlessly crafted by Marah Strauch, takes us through the obsessively beautiful history of the invention of base jumping. Breathtaking in scale, and refreshing in its humanity and mystery. This is a film for any fan of big documentaries like Senna, Man on Wire or Grizzly Man.

  • msmichel's rating of the film Sunshine Superman

Well paced and told documentary concerning the life of Carl Boenish, one of the founders/creators of B.A.S.E. jumping. Very cinematic exercise using archival footage of actual jumps and testimonials from those who were present and involved. From his beginnings with sky divings moving on to aerial towers, bridges and skyscrapers..his thirst for adventure and ability to share that thrill is evident throughout.
