Rachelle, a 17-year-old girl living outside of New York City, rides her skateboard through a journey of self-discovery. Intimidated by casual, macho sexism, Rachelle stumbles across a gang of charismatic, fearless skater girls who show her another world is out there.
Before directing her acclaimed fiction debut Skate Kitchen, Crystal Moselle had already directed a short version of the feature with the same cast in a film commissioned by fashion brand Miu Miu’s for their Women’s Tales project. Skating with designer dresses can’t have been easy, but it rocks.
