Critics reviews

[Charles’] mysteriousness, unlike that of Schindler in Schindler’s List, seems vague and nonfunctional. The same thing applies to the perfunctory handling of the communist’s dialogue as well as Irene’s adultery, both of which are delivered to the audience like Pavlovian signals rather than character studies.
