The Battle of San Pietro Directed by John Huston

Critics reviews

Huston took his perfectionism to new heights by storyboarding and shooting his own recreations of the battle, yet this falsification isn’t sanitizing. Instead, the staged combat, when synchronized with real footage of dead soldiers and the gradual demolition of San Pietro, stands as one of the few instances of a war film being unambiguously anti-war.
