Ratings & Reviews

  1. Steve G.'s rating of the film The Brink's Job

You wait [ARGH] years to see a 1970s Warren Oates crime film that involves an unexpected slapstick moment involving gumballs and then two (see also Dillinger) come along at once.

  2. J.J. 'Jake' Gittes's rating of the film The Brink's Job

"The Brink's Job" problem is, it doesn't know what it wants to be: a comedy or a crime movie. At the end it is none of both. No fish; no meat. One of Friedkin's very weak performances. Peter Falk, Gena Rowlands, Paul Sorvino, Warren Oates; big names, but they have almost no impact. At the end it's all too little. Not convincing. Boring.

  3. The Mayor Of Hell's rating of the film The Brink's Job

Not a forgotten masterpiece or anything but well done. The period detail is unparalleled. Beautiful looking film

  4. Nancarrow's rating of the film The Brink's Job

A fine but slight film weakened by light characterization and undercooked suspense. This period piece remains oddly humorous with good turn-ins by Falk, Sorvino and especially a perturbed Oates. Medium Friedkin.
