The first 30 minutes and the final 10 hint that there could have been something special achieved. Unfortunately the time spent between is lost in clichés, missed opportunities and every ethnic stereotype imaginable. Lack of wit or interest so surprising coming from the director of 'The Visitor' and 'Win Win'. Sandler is adequate in another sad sack role but the rest of the cast just flounders.
Good performance from Sandler and a pretty good movie right up until the ending. The scene at the end with his father takes the movie into some father and son destiny crap when the rest of the film before that was about a working class guy finding his place in life.
