Yay! Racing was a pain in the early days, must be where the expression "Eat my dust" arose. This isn't as sexy as "Picture Snatcher" but it's a solidly told story with believable turns and reconciliations. The moment where Ann Dvorak gets to feed her long lost man again is a treasure. It was genius for Hawks to cast actual racers in small parts, as well as a handsome mixed-race announcer who gets big close-ups.
