Ratings & Reviews

  1. Howard Fritzson's rating of the film The Crowd Roars

3.5 stars. This is a good movie. Howard Hawks at his most muscular. Everyone performs with elegant economy.

  2. Karthik's rating of the film The Crowd Roars

Has increased my appreciation, understanding, and rating of Red Line 7000!

  3. Justin Vicari's rating of the film The Crowd Roars

Yay! Racing was a pain in the early days, must be where the expression "Eat my dust" arose. This isn't as sexy as "Picture Snatcher" but it's a solidly told story with believable turns and reconciliations. The moment where Ann Dvorak gets to feed her long lost man again is a treasure. It was genius for Hawks to cast actual racers in small parts, as well as a handsome mixed-race announcer who gets big close-ups.
