The Crying Woman Directed by Jacques Doillon

What are people saying?

  • José Neves's rating of the film The Crying Woman

Doillon, with a few exceptions, like the magnificent "Le Petit Criminel", specialized in women hysterical ravings, even children ("Ponette"), and this expertise deepened a cinematic form of despair: the one of the spectator, who before such excess of signification, despairs at the exhibition of it. In this film, the center of the drama is Doillon himself, and rarely one was so chauvinistic, pretending otherwise.
