  • msmichel's rating of the film The Egg and I

A box office smash on release in '47 that wound up becoming better known for two of its supporting characters. The film marks the first appearance of 'Ma and Pa Kettle' which would become a franchise for the studio. This dated but somewhat enjoyable film finds Colbert and MacMurray as 'fish out of water' newlyweds who have taken up chicken farming. As the cliché goes...hilarity ensues. Or not.
