struck by a glitterbomb from fate, our hero progresses from sexually-frustrated malcontent to confessional artist to extreme survivalist and finally to a kind of pure being in the film's astonishing closing moments—all this existential argumentation predicated on the simple contrivance of a man shrinking in physical size.
Jag har sett denna film 3 gånger men det var inte förrens den senaste som jag började uppskatta filmen lite extra mycket. En mycket trivsam film med mycket tjusiga effekter du bör ha sett någon gång under ditt liv.
One of the best known sci-fi films of the 50's is a pretty clunky affair with poor narration and near unlikable lead. However it does boast some impressive (for the time period) effects and a near philosophical ending that impresses.
so I finally got to see it again, after so many years when I was just a little kid, the power of this fantastic movie is even stronger than what I remember. Suspenseful and imaginative sci-fi classic, with Richard Matheson's thoughtful prose, and remarkable special effects. Imagine your own house as an immense fortress full of deadly traps and gigantic monsters around the corner. Fascinating stuff.
Splendid and different take on the 1950s monster movie. This time the monsters are normal sized - it's just the victim that got smaller! Surprisingly emotional at times and with a really thoughtful ending, The Incredible Shrinking Man might be lumbered with a hilariously daft and over-earnest voiceover but it's still a superb film.
