  • melly's rating of the film The Journey

Straddling the fence between poignant and corny (often by balancing one foot firmly on the corny side), the plot, setting, and supporting characters are just window dressing for Yul Brynner & Deborah Kerr. Depending on how you look at it, there is something either very realistic or forced about how their romantic tension takes root silently, growing quietly before exploding in the late-plot crescendo of a kiss.
