Critics reviews

Twists give the recipe tang, including the underrepresented James Monroe-era setting, a steamboat musical extravaganza, a climactic setpiece involving the limitations of musketry and Lancaster’s sprinting abilities, and the debut of a whip-wielding young Walter Matthau, if Walter Matthau can ever be said to have been young.
