  • Samuel T.'s rating of the film The Last Survivors

Turns out some American made-for-television films from the 70's, while not as histrionic in the same way as Mike Leigh or Fassbinder's television cuts, can bare heavy social-political weight. Sure, this was likely filmed in a swimming pool, but it is very powerful, very dark. This is a fine example that precedes bullshit; it's guts and bones, and honesty. Géricault's "Raft of Medusa" via America 1975, with trial.
