What are people saying?

  • J. O.'s rating of the film The Lesser Blessed

The story lacked any texture and was fairly one-dimensional, but the production quality was high and the relatively inexperienced young cast did a good job. It was nice to see a film set in the territories, but it would have benefited from a director close to that geography and culture - so that it wouldn't come off so contrived. Despite this, it's a decent little movie that's mostly worth the watch.

  • mpho3's rating of the film The Lesser Blessed

"Pensively shot, painfully and poetically told, this is a story about a First Nations teen trying to recover from the unimaginable, respect his tribal roots and maybe fall in love." - Betsy Sharkey, LA Times. Categorically Canadian, this coming-of-age tale is bleak yet a refreshing change from the standard blonde blue-eyed fare that dominates in the U.S. Evans is a talent; hope he does more. Curious about the novel.
