Matthew Martens's rating of the film The Loneliest Planet

Expensive trips nowhere, indeed. Loktev's grand scheme--which is essentially a trap, albeit artfully dissembled by an air of apparent looseness and its tourist couple's immersion in estrangement as play--loses some steam after it springs, in a kinda sorta decisive scene that dilates into a long (and longer-seeming) denouement, overselling its understatement while coyly affirming depressing intractabilities of gender.
