Slightly entertaining movie with some nice sequences, e.g. the flashbacks regarding the history of the "Mexican". Lots of references like always in Verbinski's work. But it's really hard to bear Julia Roberts' overacted performance.
Memorable for the scene where everyone is partying in the city square, and they fire assault rifles into the air out of joy. Casings and bullets rain down sparking off clothes and burning people. Every time someone mentions gun control in the US, I think of this scene and smile. The US is almost Mexico. Almost.
