In Vicente Amorim’s spirited road movie, a family’s quixotic quest offers a panoramic view of Brazil’s sun-baked plains and febrile cityscapes—as well as its social ills. Wagner Moura is blistering as a shabby patriarch undone by his own idealism, offering a study in the paradoxes of fatherhood.
