A father (J.K. Simmons) struggles to bond with his estranged son who suffers a brain tumor that prevents him from forming new memories. He learns to embrace his son’s choices and to try to connect with him through the power of music.

While the film drags a little during the first act, the rest of the film pays off fantastically well. With great acting from J.K. Simmons and some great music this is a film that should not be missed. The plot seems like something that would be on the Hallmark channel but the acting, pacing, and music elevate this to a level that Hallmark will never achieve.
It is a sentimental endearing tale on the reconnection between a father and his estranged sick son through music. It has the most amazing soundtrack (of course) and the chemistry between J.K. Simmons and Lou Taylor Pucci make this less manipulative and consequently, more honest.
Até agora um dos melhores que vi em 2014. Se você entende que a música não é só um bando de acordes harmônicos, se você sabe a diferença entre ver um show e assistir a um DVD de uma banda, esse filme é daqueles que você precisa assistir. Lindo, lindo e lindo.
