Two teachers visit the Yorkshire moors a year after a friend disappeared there. On a stormy night, they take refuge in the isolated cottage of a one-time pianist shellshocked in the Spanish Civil War.
Interesting enough that I've watched it all the way through..... twice. I really liked the "death by bog" at the end. Great use of the moors in repaying the badies for their dastardly deeds. Plus, James Mason does dark and brooding very handsomely.
Classic B chiller-cum-melodrama.
A watchable but negligible gothic melodrama vaguely referencing historical trauma into its horror narrative.
