Oddball horror satire on race/class relations starring MacLaine as a uptight WASP bitch whose life falls apart when her bohemian brother loses his mind after consorting with (gasp!) Puerto Ricans! The last 10 minutes get particularly nasty but its a joy to watch MacLaine (head to toe in fur) stomp around campily in full Cruella mode, her face in disgust at all the 'darkies' as she wanders the New York slums.
The evil thing or ecstatic lunacy is always implicit, we are searching what is the prime motivation of the main character, possessed by the spirit of a passed away killer (with Puerto-rican origins)? Allegory of social-classes tension, racial antagonism in a normative society? Many topics and an interesting fiction film, playing the card of a certain realism and with a slight dose of terror.
