Critics reviews

This is less a swashbuckler than a psychological quest, where a hero seeks his identity through a maze of alter egos. The brooding Castle of Zenda, which dominates the action, smacks less of Gothic horror than of Franz Kafka. Artistically and emotionally, Zenda is a deeply disturbed film.
