It's a thinking man's zombie film. The emphasis is on character instead of gore. It's got some great actors, but you can see them struggling with the script because it's just so bad. The soundtrack was notably good.
This movie really gives the zombie genre a twist. It deals not only with human paranoia but developes in a very uncomfortable way around the important - and up-to-date - question how much a life is worth. The main title sequence with it’s electronic sounds is intriguing, and there are also some other exciting soundtrack passages.
A somewhat clunky thriller. It's too bad because the concept and ideas developed in the movie are really good. But the cast and production values are sub-par and the writing oftentimes overly melodramatic and uninspired. Nonetheless, the movie draws one in and by the last 30 minutes, I was pretty invested. Still, this is pretty pedestrian, despite the movie's definite qualities.
