A young orphan girl is sent to her uncle’s English mansion where she doesn’t fit in, until she discovers the key to a secret garden on the property.
Wretched. Clarence Brown only produced. If he had directed, maybe this film could have achieved the magic of "National Velvet" or "The Yearling." The children's performances are appalling.
Good adaptation, but something about Margaret O'Brien (in any movie) is like nails on a chalkboard for me.
So many children to hate!
I really wish I could give the extra half star for this one.
