THE SIN OF HAROLD DIDDLEBOCK

Preston Sturges United States, 1947
The Sin of Harold Diddlebock knocks around as a cheap PD title, unwanted and unloved, still dismissed by "fans" and "critics" as a minor effort at best. My guess is that most haven't watched it in years, but dismiss it simply out of habit, parroting what others have said for the past 65 years without giving it a single thought. Easier that way. But dammit, I still think it was a brilliant pairing, a sharp film for both of them, and it remains one of my favorites.
