Critics reviews

Popular hyperbole might lead one to believe that THE SKIN GAME is a total wash, and while it certainly doesn't rank among his best, it does have its moments... Though it's unlikely that the film had any direct influence on [Hitchcock's] later work, there's a hint of the themes that would characterize some of his more suspenseful dramas, especially in regards to his handling of class and moral ambiguity.
