It is Lifeday, a holiday that is celebrated on Chewbacca’s home planet. Chewie and Han Solo are trying to get to the planet where Chewie’s family is waiting, but the empire is out searching for the rebels.

What's the height of surrealism? The cameos by Harvey Corman and Bea Arthur? A wookie in an apron? The fact that Harrison Ford decided to actually give a dedicated performance and not just phone it in? For me, it's when Art Carney drops by and gives Chewbecca's father a G-rated space age porn tape, which he proceeds to watch in the living room. I'm not making this up. I don't need to. 1 out of 5 stars.
By all means, it's bad, unfocused and too cheap, even for the TV movie. But, Lifeday itself seems like an interesting idea for holiday. And the presence of Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford make it a must see for every fan. Also, it foreshadows almost every bad segment of "Return of the Jedi". Animated segment with Boba Fett is watchable though.
This is without a doubt the worst film I have ever watched. That being said, I laughed so much at how bad it was that I enjoyed it. I even considered giving it 4 stars because of it, but it would be disrespectful to all the other movies that I have given 4 stars to.
To be fair to George Lucas, he has said (and this quoted on the ase of the bootleg DVD my friend has), "If I had time and a hammer, I'd find every bootleg [of the holiday Special] in the world and smash it." I think George Lucas could afford to buy a hammer.
