After two gang-related killings in “Center City,” a suspect (who was framed) is arrested, released on bail…and murdered. Inspector Briggs of the FBI recruits a young agent, Gene Cordell, to go undercover in the shadowy Skid Row area (alias George Manly) as a potential victim of the same racket.

I'm not objective about The Street with No Name. It was one of these movies I discovered in my local cine-club in the late 70's. It made me love cinema. I have to see it since every 5 years or so. Highly recommended.
While things do pick up in the last 30 minutes this documentary/noir is only worth watching for Widmark's performance. As a representation of the FBI (without too much propaganda or gloss) the film mildly succeeds but the script is its biggest flaw despite the good photography.
