Our take

Jim Carrey gives one of his finest performances in this marvelous existential satire from the great Peter Weir. Prescient in its portrayal of reality TV saturation, The Truman Show is at once a heart-rending metaphysical fable and one of the great comedies of the 1990s. A true modern classic.
