Chris Hunter kills an intruder and tells her husband and lawyer it was an act of self-defense. It’s later revealed that he was actually her lover and she had posed for an incriminating statue he created.
2 1/2 out of 5 stars. I got a little excited by the noirishness towards the beginning but that didn't last long. The Eve Arden speech towards the end was pretty snappy but overall The Unfaithful is a more feminine approach to film noir, still commenting on post-WWII society and women's roles, just not in the savage and carnivorous way I like my noir.
