Tim and Eric are given a billion dollars to make a movie, but squander every dime… and the sinister Schlaaang corporation is pissed. Their lives at stake, the guys skip town in search of a way to pay the money back.
This film is not currently playing on MUBI but 30 other great films are. See what's now showing
A whole lot of fun, but I actually have to say I was a bit underwhelmed. Having seen some of their other work, especially the stuff they've done for HBO, I genuinely think Tim & Eric have incredible talent even beyond their sketch comedy origins; so this effort, while delivering some great laughs, actually seems a bit tame. Still, if you're a Tim & Eric fan, you're guaranteed a good time.
I doubt there will be another movie to make me laugh as hard as this one this year... but we'll see! I was a little worried at the beginning because I couldn't quite see how Tim and Eric would adapt to the silver screen but within minutes, I knew I was in quite a ride.
i've been a pretty big fan of theirs in the past and really loved their short film the terrys. but even knowing what to expect, it was only ok. had some pretty funny parts, but for them i felt like it wasn't up to the rest of the works.
Most of the laughs come from the beginning when Tim and Eric are outfitted in their ridiculous Hollywood fake tans and ear piercings. A coked-up night on the town becomes a surreal excursion into genital piercing. After that, the humor more or less dries up and this "Billion Dollar Movie" becomes a 15 minute episode of the Tim & Eric show stretched out to 90 minutes. It cannot sustain itself.
I really enjoyed this show! It's pure G-rated fun has Re sparked my love of cinema. It has so much to offer in terms of its set pieces, OSt, and cinematography. Danial Haworth's editing is pure genius with the mixture of made for tv cuts and apearingly seemless match action cutting complimenting the vibrant colors that are found on screen. The most beautiful movie since The Tree of Life (2011)
