The Bronte kids depicted as escapees from Hogwarts, magical genius flaming out of their heads. In another words, the BBC is subtly but irresistibly luring the young into the arena of serious reading. Apart from this – and a closing dose of pap, with awestruck turists walking around the Bronte museum – an excellent film. 3½
Beautiful portrait and quite an unsettling story. At the same time, a tale of sorority and high picks of women suffering. The final outcome is just perfect in the best of the ways, as both a tale about the pursuit of talent and a remembrance of three extraordinary artistes.
