Colorful disco dance music movie has cute trolls, but also some disturbing moments of disgusting unlikeable evil big trolls that eat them which makes this not a film for the most sensitive child. Funnier is the fact that these evil trolls come from a town called Bergen (rainy city in Norway which housed Edvard Grieg who's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" is heard). The film is mostly unremarkable though.
1-2. A strange mishmash of a movie that starts out as a heroic journey before morphing into a Cinderella model of storytelling. It's really what happens at the micro level that's frustrating, though, when the movie begins to conflate rationality with sadness, positioning itself as a movie where the 'complainer' needs to confirm, since 'happiness' is the natural state to be in. Points for animation, though.
Dull and predictable tale to channel the sugary cuteness of forgettable characters. However it is perhaps the musical pretext to showcase pop charts the most annoying feature in this animation. The film feels too mercantile and less genuine, the latest attempt to launch another trademark character.
