VICENTA

Based on real events, Vicenta lives in a wood and zinc house in the deep suburbs of Buenos Aires. She is poor, illiterate and, despite having everything to lose, she starts a war against the Argentine State to achieve what she considers fair: the legal termination of her daughter’s pregnancy.

Minimalist in technique but unflinching in righteous anger, this documentary uses plasticine models to tell a true story of the Argentinian fight for reproductive rights. In addition to being visually striking, the static figures create a powerful contrast with the humanity of the battle at hand.
