Walter Pidgeon plays the designer and builder of a nuclear submarine called upon to fire its missiles on the Van Allen radiation belt to put out the fire raging there that threatens to incinerate the earth in this deep-sea adventure.

Blu-Ray. Why so much hate ? The film's got rythm, there are giant octopusses, a shark in the aquarium in the nuclear submarine, Peter Lorre as a genius physicist (yes), Joan Fontaine as a mean psychiatrist (yes) and Marlon Brando as Jor-El (no). I particularly loved the underwater minefield and the rain of icebergs in expanded polystyrene bouncing over the submarine. Strongly recommended to movie lovers.
