Beautiful, interesting, incredible cinema.
In Corsica, a woman attempts to change the world by burning it. Living something of a hermitic existence on the island, she lights fire to cars, the hills, and construction sites. But she doesn’t simply burn the world to destroy it, she views fire as cleansing.
Flames purify the earth and the mind in this bracing short. Through the gaze of a mysterious woman, who denounces the hypocrisy of the modern world in frank voice-over, wildfires seem like fair retribution. Angry but poetic, the film seems to ask: when nature fights back, whose side are you on?
