Maybe it takes people with emotional problems to actually love this. I got her autistic/disregarding me me me-isms. The utter sadness and loneliness of her full frontal parade amongst slot machines. I laughed out loud as much as i cried like a newborn. It is a Frenchie for sure. Neutering dogs on live TV? brilliant+ disgusting. Wiig's finest hour. Buñuel, Lynch, Dupieux & Miranda July slowclap. Montaigne's quote?Ace.
"Where Is My Mind" has officially been used in all kinds of movies. From the very beginning you can actually see this is going nowhere, still it keeps going and going and sinking and leaving you behind but dragging you down with it, as they try to grab every little thread they can to continue the story. I honestly don't know how I watched it till the end.
i haven't laughed so hard at a film in a while, its so absurd! (and i usually hate comedies). it does have an underlying darkness, which i like. and its a great portrait of a woman, interesting look at narcissism and mental health. i'm surprised people are offended by it.
I´m giving this a light three. Wiig is very good as always and the story is quite interesting. Still the blend of comedy and tragedy is competently handled but in the end things fall a bit short. The supporting cast is stellar but feels overall underused. The direction is workmanlike and servicable but could have used a little more ooomph to make things really soar.
