Where Hands Touch Directed by Amma Asante
My ambiguous feeling about the film is, perhaps, part of the point. You don’t watch Asante’s film so much as participate in it: importing previous anticipation or reluctance, experiencing the film itself, and then thinking, talking, reading, or moving through its contents and context after the screening is finished.

“Slippery” is the word used in the festival’s synopsis, but I would rather use the term “haphazard,” as it seems more fitting to describe the film’s careless political compass, and its jarring cuts between a tender teenage dream and a gruesome Gestapo nightmare.

  • Aunt Peg's rating of the film Where Hands Touch

Just so bad. Really has to be seen to be believed. Not one thing rings true in this fascinating to watch train wreck. It's also one of those films that you can't lay any blame on the actors - nobody on the planet could make this screenplay work or these 'characters' work. So disappointing as Amma Asante's previous three films were all admirable works.
