Surprisingly good, with a refreshing lack of forced sex or romance. As well as solid acting and some quite wholesome, admirable, and engaging characters, who are the main focus of the movie. Also deliciously 2000's. I died when I saw the cell phone towards the beginning
For an early 2000s slasher flick, complete with inbred mutants, I found this considerably enjoyable. Yes, there are a few slow moments and the affect had a flatness at times, but the gore and effects were done well and the acting made up for these places. The ending is an exciting conclusion to an already suspense-driven film, and leaves you wanting more once the last explosion happens. Definitely see this one.
People here died so fast that we weren't able to create bounds with them! Villains' make-up was so fake, not being terrifying at all! Eliza Dushku really steals the show. The first part is a whole lot of fun but the second arc starts to drag the same storyline for too long; no passion, no twists, no scares, basically, nothing. Oh, and the trees sequence was so... unreal!
This movie was fun to watch. It's a B movie that makes you yell at the screen over and over. The good guys are likable enough and the bad ones are revolting enough. I'd recommend it for a group movie night situation. Looking forward to seeing the second and third ones, getting frustrated and yelling, "Don't do that! Grab the gun!"
