Can't help it...it is pure 80s perfection and the movie that, without a doubt, I watched more than any other as a child. I could probably recite this word for word. I can recognize its many, many flaws, but still can't help but love it in every way.
A fun and suprisingly fairly accurate portrayal of the Lincoln County war and a vehicle to showcase some of the Brat pack of the 80s. A not bad at all western from a weak period for them. Emilio is having a good time and keifer shows some great range. Feel like this is the first movie where he stopped the sneering Nicholson impression and played vulnerable
This is the quintessential 80s western. It's big, loud, dumb fun! Is it a bit cheesy? Admittedly it is, but that is a part of it's charm! Combining with an off kilter performance from Emilio Estevez and some truly imaginative moments of action. You've got yourself one hell of a good western right here. Is this a perfect film? Nope. But it isn't trying to be. This is just a wild, fun romp of a film.
