Zakaria is an adaptation of the 2004 book, Dreams of the Rehabilitation Period, by the Nobel-Prize winner Naguib Mahfouz. In its stead, the director inserts his own life into the film, facing his own fears through adapting three of Mahfouz’s dreams.
