“My friends took me out to Watts, and I looked around and said, 'This is your ghetto? You know these people have yards and grass and fences...so then you haven't seen the Robert Taylor homes, you've never seen some of the places I've seen.' So when we were shooting Boyz n the Hood, we were shooting in south central L.A. but in my head, real ghetto, real street people.”
