“In those days, they had pretty actresses, or they had 'dramatic’ ones – that went with being rather unattractive and flat-chested. I wasn’t either, so I got led down the comedy route. It showed I was quite versatile, but unfortunately, because it was the Seventies and all tits and arse, you were only a butt for the jokes.”
