“We wanted to film ['Mouton'] like a dog would look at a human. But regarding animality, there’s something obvious in relation to cinema, which is that you can really get rid of language. Both the figure of the animal and that of the totem, the sacred, break away from language. Cinema can express its profound nature by filming living beings other than humans.”
