There is no longer any excuse for writing lines like 'Ah! the dear old fragrance of Paris, the healthy smell of the Métro', etc. . . . Someone may retort that at least Asphalt contains one good shot, of the said Arnoul getting into an aeroplane and saying 'Goodbye!' But personally I said goodbye to this sort of cinema ages ago.
