Directed by Christian Rivers, a longtime art director for Jackson, the overall look asks the question, “are you sick of Steampunk yet,” and for me, yeah.

The director is Christian Rivers, Jackson’s longtime storyboard and effects artist, who despite the usual computer murk has an eye for arresting sights (a plane whose wings resemble an undergarment, a floating city with fragile bridges and walls) and a flair for action and suspense.
