Before competing for the Palme d’Or with his Donald Trump biopic The Apprentice, director Ali Abbasi made a splash on the Croisette with the genre-defying fairytale Border. Set in modern-day Sweden, this eerie and thought-provoking allegory is also a tender, moving love story unlike any other.
